Greatness Lies Within

When we’re children, we daydream. We visit Neverland and play at the impossible.

Then, we don’t stop believing in the impossible, but the impossible becomes the unattainable. And this is far worse. Because a part of us, a deep, intrinsic piece of our being, our true selves, knows we’re created with the potential of a Cleopatra or Mike Tyson. But we let a 1000s “no”s build up. No, I don’t want to work out every day. No, I can’t put out more effort than it takes just to survive.

Pretty soon, the potential is covered in grime, and when our light quits shining, we forget who we are and what we’re capable of.

So, we lie. Because it’s easier to think I wasn’t made to be great, than it is to know we are, but we didn’t do anything about it.

Greatness is a choice.

A. Faith.
